As I turn to see what the sound was I start running as fast as my legs will go; I glance back and see that the great cat is gaining on me. I’ve always been fast; it’s one of my talents. Fast as the wind, Soft would remark. Oh Soft, where are you now? If only I could see you, I know all would be okay. But you are not here and this great cat is after me. I start to panic as I envision myself as cat food. This is no usual cat, no no. This is a tiger. It towers over me and I know I need to do something fast.
I see shining in the distance. Shimmering, sparkly sights in front of me and I know right away what I need to do. I use the last of my speed and strength to get me there. Fast. Before I know it, I jump into the shimmering, sparkly in front of me. Water envelopes me and I poke my head up from the surface. I look for the great cat and see it frustrated and defeated on the shores of the shimmering, sparkly water. As I swim confidently to the other side, I’m impressed by my fast thinking. Everyone knows cats hate water and the shimmering lake was my savior. Outsmarted by a dog yet again great cat. As always, dogs are the superior animals.
